What file formats does ShareOtter support?
ShareOtter supports over 358 file formats. This includes documents (PDF, DOCX, DOC), presentations (PPTX, PPT), spreadsheets (XLSX, CSV), images (JPEG, PNG, SVG, RAW), videos (MP4, MKV, MOV), audio (MP3, WAV), eBooks (EPUB, MOBI), and code files.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes, you can upload up to 20 files at once with a total size limit of 100 MB per upload. If you require larger file uploads, please sign up for one of our premium plans.
How long are shared files kept online?
By default, files are kept for 24 hours on the free plan. You can also configure them to expire sooner (e.g. after a certain time or number of downloads). Creating a free account lets you manage your links long-term.
Can I password protect my shared files?
Yes. Before or after uploading, you can restrict access to your file by setting up a password. Recipients will need to enter the password to view or download the shared file.
Do recipients need a ShareOtter account to download files?
No. Recipients can view or download files directly from the link you share. An account is only required if you gate the file access to specific email addresses.
