Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2025

Welcome to ShareOtter. By using our website or services, you agree to these terms. Please read them.

1. Who we are

ShareOtter (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a file sharing platform that lets you upload files and share them as viewable web pages. References to “you” or “user” mean anyone who accesses or uses ShareOtter.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use ShareOtter. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you’re using ShareOtter on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that entity to these terms.

3. Your account

You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. ShareOtter uses magic links for authentication — we’ll send a login link to your email address when you request one. You’re responsible for all activity that happens under your account.

4. What you can upload

You may only upload files that you own or have the right to share. By uploading content to ShareOtter, you confirm that:

You retain full ownership of everything you upload. We do not claim any ownership over your files.

5. What you cannot upload

You may not use ShareOtter to upload, share, or distribute content that:

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without notice.

6. Our licence to your content

To provide the service, we need a limited licence to store and serve your files. By uploading content, you grant ShareOtter a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, and deliver your content solely for the purpose of operating the service. This licence ends when you delete your content or close your account.

We will never use your private or password-protected files for marketing or promotional purposes.

7. Payments and billing

Paid plans are billed per Space. Payments are processed by Creem, our payment provider. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.

If you’re not satisfied with ShareOtter for any reason, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your purchase — no questions asked. After 30 days, you may cancel at any time and retain access until the end of your current billing period. To request a refund, email us at mohit@shareotter.com

8. Free plan and storage limits

Free accounts include a storage limit as described on our pricing page. We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that significantly exceed their plan limits or that appear to be abusing the free tier.

9. Service availability

We aim to keep ShareOtter available at all times, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance, updates, or fixes that temporarily affect availability. We are not liable for any downtime or data loss.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your files will be deleted from our servers within a reasonable period.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

ShareOtter is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties, express or implied, about the reliability, accuracy, or fitness of the service for any particular purpose.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShareOtter shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or by posting a notice on the site. Continued use of ShareOtter after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
